Plus Plus Calibration delivers precision McLaren ECU tuning in Phoenix, Arizona. From the M838T twin-turbo V8 in the 570S and 600LT through the M840T in the 720S, 765LT, and 750S, and into the new Artura's twin-turbo V6 hybrid platform, our calibrations are developed and verified in-house on our dyno.
Our McLaren calibration work covers the Sports Series, Super Series, and Ultimate Series:
The 720S is arguably the strongest tuning platform McLaren has built. The M840T 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 ships with substantial reserve headroom, and our Stage 1 calibration on pump 91 regularly adds 70-100 wheel horsepower and similar torque gains. Low and mid-range torque improvements are especially dramatic — the factory calibration limits torque in lower gears for tire-preservation reasons, and raising those limits transforms the car's drivability. Stage 1 is a full single-day appointment.
Stage 2 on the 720S typically pairs our ECU calibration with high-flow downpipes and a cold-air intake. Peak output in the 820-860 wheel horsepower range is readily achievable on stock turbochargers, and the 720S platform has proven exceptionally robust at these power levels. For owners willing to commit to E85 or race fuel calibrations, we've seen Stage 2 builds exceed 900 whp on stock turbo hardware. The 720S's seven-speed dual-clutch transmission handles these power levels without issue when paired with appropriate TCU calibration.
The 765LT ships from McLaren with a more aggressive factory calibration than the 720S, which means smaller Stage 1 ECU gains (typically 40-60 whp) compared to the 720S starting from a less optimized map. However, Stage 2 gains remain substantial because the underlying hardware is identical. The 750S sits between the 720S and 765LT in factory output; our Stage 1 gains fall proportionally.
The M838T platform in the Sports Series cars is an older and slightly smaller-displacement sibling to the M840T. Stage 1 gains on the 570S and 600LT are typically 50-75 wheel horsepower on pump 91, with Stage 2 bolt-on builds pushing into the 650-700 whp range. The 600LT responds especially well to calibration work — it ships with a more aggressive factory tune than the 570S, but the platform is still well below its mechanical limits.
McLaren's seven-speed SSG (dual-clutch) transmission is strong but ships with conservative clutch clamping pressures. Our TCU calibration increases clutch pressures to eliminate slip under boost, tightens shift timing, adjusts kick-down thresholds, and raises the torque ceiling to match Stage 2 ECU power levels. Without a TCU tune, aggressive ECU work on the 720S and 765LT can cause the transmission to pull timing under boost to protect the driveline.
The Artura's M630 twin-turbo V6 plus electric motor architecture is a new platform for McLaren, and calibration support is actively developing. Our Artura work focuses on ICE calibration optimization while respecting the hybrid system's torque-distribution logic. Gains are more conservative than on a pure M840T platform but meaningful and fully documented. Contact us for current capabilities — we're conservative about releasing production tunes on brand-new hybrid architectures.
Every McLaren tune we deliver includes baseline and tuned dyno sheets, a full data log of every dyno pull capturing lambda, boost, knock, and EGT behavior, a written changelog of every calibration modification, and road-drive verification for drivability. Most Stage 1 tunes complete in a single day. For out-of-town McLaren owners — many travel from California, Texas, Florida, and Colorado — we coordinate lodging in north Phoenix's Deer Valley area.
Yes — we tune with factory telemetry intact. Our calibration work is compatible with McLaren's telemetry system and does not require disabling it.
A well-developed tune won't trip factory error codes or warning lights. Our calibrations respect the factory diagnostic thresholds and we verify no faults or warnings are introduced during the tuning process.
Yes, with the caveat that Artura calibration support is newer. We're conservative about Artura tunes until a given revision is fully validated on our dyno. Contact us directly to discuss current capabilities.
