The car
The first Land Rover to wear an SVR badge was developed by Special Vehicle Operations, shown at Pebble Beach in August 2014 and sold in the US from the 2015 model year, built alongside the other Range Rover Sport models. Its 5.0-liter supercharged V8 runs retuned engine management and more boost, and Land Rover quoted 0–60 mph in 4.5 seconds and an electronically limited 162 mph.
SVO cut shift times in the ZF eight-speed automatic by up to 50 percent, using fuel cut-offs on upshifts and throttle blips on downshifts. The car keeps the two-speed transfer case with low range and a recalibrated active locking rear differential, and adds stiffer rear subframe bushings, two-channel active roll control, six-piston Brembo brakes, 21-inch wheels, a two-stage active exhaust and leather sports seats.
The 2018 model year brought more output, a carbon-fiber composite hood and lighter SVR Performance seats, with 0–60 mph cut to 4.3 seconds and top speed raised to 176 mph.
On a 2023 car, Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 575 hp and 516 lb-ft to 610 hp and 580 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 630 hp and 600 lb-ft.

The 2018 update gave the SVR a carbon-fiber composite hood, with an exposed-weave finish available, and lighter SVR Performance front seats, along with more output and a higher top speed. Earlier cars have a conventional hood and the original leather sports seats.
No. The L461 Range Rover Sport that followed has no SVR. Its performance model is the Sport SV, introduced for 2024 with a twin-turbocharged mild-hybrid V8 instead of the supercharged engine, and it is not covered by this page.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2023 car, Stage 1 takes it from 575 hp to 610 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 630 hp.
