The car
Developed by Porsche Motorsport and revealed in 2019, the Cayman GT4 coupe and the 718 Spyder roadster are the track-focused 718s that sit below the RS models. They share a powertrain and most of their chassis.
Their 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six revs to 8,000 rpm and drives the rear wheels through a six-speed manual that blips the throttle automatically on downshifts. A seven-speed PDK was added as an option for the 2021 model year. Porsche lists 4.2 seconds to 60 mph with the manual and 3.7 seconds with PDK.
The front axle is derived from the 911 GT3, the body rides 30 millimeters lower than a standard 718, and camber, toe, ride height and anti-roll bars can be adjusted. A new diffuser and rear wing raise downforce by about 50 percent over the previous GT4. The Spyder trades the roof for a manually operated lightweight fabric top.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 414 hp and 317 lb-ft to 450 hp and 340 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 470 hp and 355 lb-ft. The gearbox has its own controller and torque limits, so the optional TCU tune raises them to match, with sharper shifts and stronger clutch clamping.

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2019–2024 Porsche 718 Spyder / Cayman GT4 models. Choose your year at the top of the page; the figures and prices are the same for every year.
The RS models replace this engine with the 911 GT3’s 4.0-liter flat-six, which revs to 9,000 rpm, and are sold only with PDK. They are lighter and quicker, and they are a separate catalog entry with their own page, 718 Spyder RS / Cayman GT4 RS.
No. The 981-generation Boxster Spyder and Cayman GT4 that came before these cars are not part of this catalog entry. This page covers the 718-generation coupe and roadster with the 4.0-liter engine, in manual and PDK form.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2024 car, Stage 1 takes it from 414 hp to 450 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 470 hp.
A TCU tune is available as an add-on ($505). It raises the transmission’s torque limits and sharpens the shifts so the gearbox can handle the extra power. Ship your TCU in the same box as your ECU.
