The car
Only two 718s use the engine from the 911 GT3: the Cayman GT4 RS, revealed in November 2021 with deliveries from 2022, and the open 718 Spyder RS, which followed as a 2024 model. They are the most powerful 718s Porsche built.
The 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six, also used in the 911 GT3 Cup race car, revs to 9,000 rpm and comes only with a seven-speed PDK geared shorter than the GT4’s. Both reach 60 mph in 3.2 seconds, Porsche says. The engine draws air through intakes behind the side windows on the coupe and behind the headrests on the Spyder RS.
Their purposes differ. The GT4 RS is a track car with a fixed rear wing, a ride height 30 millimeters below a standard Cayman and a top speed of 196 mph. The Spyder RS has softer springs and dampers, a two-piece manually operated top, and a top speed of 191 mph.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 493 hp and 332 lb-ft to 570 hp and 405 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 610 hp and 420 lb-ft. The gearbox has its own controller and torque limits, so the optional TCU tune raises them to match, with sharper shifts and stronger clutch clamping.

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2022–2024 Porsche 718 Spyder RS / Cayman GT4 RS models. Choose your year at the top of the page; the figures and prices are the same for every year.
No. The Cayman GT4 RS reached customers in 2022, while the 718 Spyder RS arrived as a 2024 model, so earlier years on this page refer to the coupe. Both share the same engine and gearbox, which is why they are listed together.
The GT4 and 718 Spyder use a different 4.0-liter flat-six that revs to 8,000 rpm and can be had with a manual gearbox. The RS models switch to the GT3 engine and PDK only, and a Cayman GT4 RS weighs 49 pounds less than a GT4 with PDK, according to Porsche.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2024 car, Stage 1 takes it from 493 hp to 570 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 610 hp.
A TCU tune is available as an add-on ($1,000). It raises the transmission’s torque limits and sharpens the shifts so the gearbox can handle the extra power. Ship your TCU in the same box as your ECU.
