The car

About the Porsche Macan S (95B.2)

The facelifted Macan S changed engines entirely. In place of the earlier twin-turbo V6 it received a 3.0-liter V6 with a single twin-scroll turbocharger mounted centrally in the inner V, an engine Porsche also used in the Panamera, Cayenne and Cayenne E-Hybrid.

Chassis changes came with it. Aluminum strut forks replace steel parts at the front axle to cut unsprung mass, front brake rotors grow to 360 by 36 mm, and staggered front and rear tire sizes are standard. Drive goes through the seven-speed PDK and Porsche Traction Management.

Porsche rates it at 5.1 seconds to 60 mph, 4.9 with Sport Chrono, and 157 mph. It reached US dealers in 2019, and with the 2022 update the Macan S moved to a 2.9-liter twin-turbo engine.

Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 349 hp and 354 lb-ft to 425 hp and 440 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 460 hp and 480 lb-ft. The gearbox has its own controller and torque limits, so the optional TCU tune raises them to match, with sharper shifts and stronger clutch clamping.

FAQ

Macan S (95B.2) tuning questions

More answers in our FAQ

Which years of the Macan S (95B.2) does this tune fit?

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2019–2021 Porsche Macan S (95B.2) models. Choose your year at the top of the page; the figures and prices are the same for every year.

Is this the engine used in the Macan S (95B.3)?

No. For the 2022 model year the Macan S switched to the 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 previously fitted to the Macan GTS (95B.2). This car’s single-turbo 3.0-liter belongs to the 95B.2 generation only, so the two are separate catalog entries.

How does it compare with the Macan GTS (95B.2)?

The GTS of the same generation has a 2.9-liter V6 with two turbochargers, standard adaptive air suspension and a GTS-specific sport exhaust, and it is quicker. It has its own page; this one covers the Macan S only.

What is the difference between Stage 1 and Stage 2 on the Macan S (95B.2)?

Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2021 car, Stage 1 takes it from 349 hp to 425 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 460 hp.

Do I need a TCU tune for the Macan S (95B.2)?

A TCU tune is available as an add-on ($1,999). It raises the transmission’s torque limits and sharpens the shifts so the gearbox can handle the extra power. Ship your TCU in the same box as your ECU.
