The car
Porsche launched the 992.1 Turbo for the 2021 model year, shortly after the Turbo S, and gave it output and torque on par with the 991.2 Turbo S it replaced. It brings Turbo traction and pace in coupe or cabriolet form, one step below the S.
The 3,745 cc flat-six has two symmetrical turbochargers with variable turbine geometry, larger than before, and drives all four wheels through an eight-speed PDK tailored to the Turbo. Front and rear tracks are wider than on the previous Turbo, the tires are 20 inches at the front and 21 at the rear, and the steering is six percent more direct; Sport Chrono, rear-axle steering and PASM are standard.
Porsche Active Aerodynamics adds controlled cooling flaps at the front to the adaptive front spoiler and rear wing, and the system doubles as an air brake in an emergency stop. With 45 mm wider front fenders and a 20 mm wider rear, the Turbo models were the widest production 911s to that point.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 572 hp and 553 lb-ft to 740 hp and 680 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 780 hp and 710 lb-ft. The gearbox has its own controller and torque limits, so the optional TCU tune raises them to match, with sharper shifts and stronger clutch clamping.

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2020–2024 Porsche 911 Turbo (992.1) models. Choose your year at the top of the page; the figures and prices are the same for every year.
The engine moved to larger symmetrical VTG turbochargers, the seven-speed PDK gave way to an eight-speed unit, both tracks widened and the brakes grew. Porsche also notes that peak torque is no longer a time-limited overboost. The earlier car is listed as 911 Turbo (991.2).
No. The Turbo S uses the same engine family at a higher rating and adds carbon-ceramic brakes as standard. It has its own page and figures, 911 Turbo S (992.1).
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2024 car, Stage 1 takes it from 572 hp to 740 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 780 hp.
A TCU tune is available as an add-on ($1,999). It raises the transmission’s torque limits and sharpens the shifts so the gearbox can handle the extra power. Ship your TCU in the same box as your ECU.
