About the Porsche 911 Turbo S (992.1)

The 911 Turbo S is the 911 built to cover ground fast in any weather. Where the GT3 and GT3 RS are made for the track, the Turbo S pairs supercar acceleration with all-wheel drive and a cabin comfortable enough to use every day.

The 992.1 generation is powered by a 3,745 cc twin-turbocharged flat-six, with larger variable-geometry turbochargers than the 991.2 Turbo S before it, and sends its power through an eight-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox to all four wheels. Porsche quotes 0–60 mph in 2.6 seconds and a top speed of 205 mph.

Standard equipment follows from that brief: carbon-ceramic brakes, adaptive aerodynamics with a deployable front spoiler and a larger rear wing, and staggered 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels. It was sold as a coupe and as a cabriolet.

Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 641 hp and 590 lb-ft to 800 hp and 700 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 850 hp and 745 lb-ft. The gearbox has its own controller and torque limits, so the optional TCU tune raises them to match, with sharper shifts and stronger clutch clamping.

On the dyno

A 911 Turbo S (992.1) on our hub dyno

Filmed at our Phoenix shop. A hub dyno bolts to the wheel hubs in place of the wheels, so there is no tire slip and the readings repeat from one run to the next, which makes it the right tool for comparing one calibration with another. Turn the sound on to hear it.

FAQ

911 Turbo S (992.1) tuning questions

More answers in our FAQ

Which years of the 911 Turbo S (992.1) does this tune fit?

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2020–2024 Porsche 911 Turbo S (992.1) models. Choose your year at the top of the page; the figures and prices are the same for every year.

Does this tune fit the newer 992.2 Turbo S?

No. The 992.2 Turbo S that replaced it is a hybrid, with electrically assisted turbochargers, so it has a different powertrain and this calibration does not apply to it. Contact us to ask about tuning a 992.2.

Is the 911 Turbo (without the S) tuned the same way?

No, it has its own calibration. The 992.1 Turbo uses the same 3,745 cc twin-turbo flat-six but leaves the factory with less power (572 hp), so its Stage 1 and Stage 2 figures and prices are listed separately. Choose it under Tune my car on our Porsche page.

What is the difference between Stage 1 and Stage 2 on the 911 Turbo S (992.1)?

Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2024 car, Stage 1 takes it from 641 hp to 800 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 850 hp.

Do I need a TCU tune for the 911 Turbo S (992.1)?

A TCU tune is available as an add-on ($1,500). It raises the transmission’s torque limits and sharpens the shifts so the gearbox can handle the extra power. Ship your TCU in the same box as your ECU.
