The car
Bentley added the V8 to the Bentayga range in January 2018, two years after its first SUV went on sale with a twelve-cylinder engine, and presented it as the most sporting version to date. It brought a deeper exhaust note, twin-quad tailpipes and optional carbon-ceramic brakes with 440 mm front discs, which Bentley described as the largest front brakes on any production car.
The engine is a 4.0-liter, 32-valve V8 with two twin-scroll turbochargers, both mounted inside the vee, and it can run on four cylinders under light load. A ZF eight-speed automatic feeds a permanent all-wheel-drive system that splits torque 40:60 front to rear. Self-leveling air suspension with continuous damping control is standard, and Bentley Dynamic Ride, a 48-volt active anti-roll system, was an option.
This page runs from 2018 to 2023, so it spans the facelift Bentley announced in June 2020. That update brought a larger, more upright grille, elliptical LED headlamps, a full-width tailgate, a 10.9-inch touchscreen and up to 100 mm more rear legroom, depending on the seat configuration.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 542 hp and 568 lb-ft to 675 hp and 690 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 720 hp and 738 lb-ft.

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2018–2023 Bentley Bentayga V8 models. Choose your year at the top of the page; the figures and prices are the same for every year.
Look at the lights and the tailgate. Cars built after the mid-2020 update have elliptical LED headlamps, a taller grille and a tailgate that spans the full width of the car, with the license plate relocated. Earlier V8s keep the original front and rear styling. Both versions share the 4.0-liter V8 and are listed here.
The W12 was the launch engine in 2016, a 6.0-liter twin-turbo twelve-cylinder with a 187 mph top speed. The V8 joined in 2018 with a sportier sound and a 180 mph top speed. After the 2020 facelift the V8 became the core Bentayga engine and the W12 continued only in the Bentayga Speed. The W12 has its own page.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2023 car, Stage 1 takes it from 542 hp to 675 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 720 hp.
