About the Bentley Continental GT V8 / GTC V8 (third generation)

A year after the third-generation Continental GT went on sale with a W12, Bentley added a V8 in March 2019 for both the coupe and the GTC convertible. The body and cabin are shared; the V8 is identified by quad tailpipes, discreet V8 badges on the front fenders and 20-inch ten-spoke wheels, and Bentley quoted a touring range of more than 500 miles.

Under the hood is a 4.0-liter V8 whose two twin-scroll turbochargers sit in the valley between the cylinder banks, and it can deactivate half its cylinders when cruising. It uses the same eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox and active all-wheel-drive system as the W12, running in rear-wheel drive as much as possible and varying the front-to-rear split as grip requires. Three-chamber air springs are standard, and Bentley Dynamic Ride was an option.

Inside, this generation introduced the Bentley Rotating Display, which turns the veneer panel in the center of the dashboard to show either a 12.3-inch touchscreen or three analog dials for outside temperature, compass and chronometer.

FAQ

Continental GT V8 / GTC V8 (third generation) tuning questions

More answers in our FAQ

Which years of the Continental GT V8 / GTC V8 (third generation) does this tune fit?

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2019–2024 Bentley Continental GT V8 / GTC V8 (third generation) models. Choose your year at the top of the page; the figures and prices are the same for every year.

Which Continental GT V8 cars are on this page?

Third-generation V8 coupes and GTC convertibles, model years 2019 to 2024. V8 cars of the previous body, built until 2018 with a torque-converter automatic, are on the Continental GT V8 / V8 S (second generation) page, and the twelve-cylinder version of this car is on the Continental GT W12 / GTC W12 (third generation) page.

How does the GTC differ from the coupe?

The GTC has a Z-fold fabric roof that opens or closes in 19 seconds at speeds up to 30 mph, and its front seats have a neck warmer. Bentley quotes 0–60 mph in 4.0 seconds for the convertible against 3.9 seconds for the coupe. Both bodies share the V8 and gearbox and are covered here.

What is the difference between Stage 1 and Stage 2 on the Continental GT V8 / GTC V8 (third generation)?

Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel.
