About the Bentley Continental GT W12 (second generation)

Bentley unveiled its second Continental GT in Paris in 2010, began deliveries in early 2011 and launched it with the W12. That twin-turbo 6.0-liter engine had first appeared in the original Continental GT of 2003, and Bentley says its W layout makes it 24 percent shorter than a conventional V12.

In the years this page covers, the W12 drives all four wheels through a ZF eight-speed automatic, which replaced a six-speed for the 2013 model year. A refresh shown at Geneva in March 2015 raised the engine’s output, added cylinder deactivation to save fuel, and changed the styling with a new front bumper, a smaller grille, new fender vents and a restyled trunk lid.

Within this generation the W12 coupe sat above the V8 and V8 S and below the faster Continental GT Speed.

Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 552 hp and 479 lb-ft to 720 hp and 700 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 740 hp and 720 lb-ft.

FAQ

Continental GT W12 (second generation) tuning questions

More answers in our FAQ

Which years of the Continental GT W12 (second generation) does this tune fit?

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2014–2018 Bentley Continental GT W12 (second generation) models. Choose your year at the top of the page; the figures and prices are the same for every year.

Which years and versions does this page cover?

Second-generation Continental GT W12 cars from 2014 to 2018, all with the eight-speed automatic. Cars from the 2016 model year onward have the refreshed nose and the updated engine with cylinder deactivation. The Continental Supersports and Continental GT3-R from the same era have their own pages.

How does it differ from the third-generation Continental GT W12?

The third-generation car, listed from 2019, is a new design with an aluminum body, a dual-clutch gearbox and active all-wheel drive that favors the rear wheels. This car keeps a torque-converter automatic and permanent all-wheel drive. Choose Continental GT W12 / GTC W12 (third generation) for the newer car.

What is the difference between Stage 1 and Stage 2 on the Continental GT W12 (second generation)?

Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2018 car, Stage 1 takes it from 552 hp to 720 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 740 hp.
