The car
With the 2020 facelift, the 7 Series gained a kidney grille about 40 percent larger in a single-piece surround, and its V8 was thoroughly reworked. The catalog lists the V8 cars from that point, the 2020 to 2022 model years, under the name M750i; BMW USA sold them as the 750i xDrive.
The 4.4-liter engine belongs to the same V8 generation BMW introduced in the M850i, with two twin-scroll turbochargers set inside the 90-degree vee. An eight-speed Sport Steptronic drives all four wheels, and BMW quoted 0–60 mph in 3.9 seconds, against 4.3 for the 2016 V8 car.
Everything else follows the rest of the facelifted range: a long-wheelbase body on a 126.4-inch wheelbase, two-axle air suspension and xDrive as standard. Only the V12 M760Li sat above it.
On a 2022 car, Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 523 hp and 553 lb-ft to 720 hp and 650 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 745 hp and 675 lb-ft. The gearbox has its own controller and torque limits, so the optional TCU tune raises them to match, with sharper shifts and stronger clutch clamping.

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2020–2022 BMW 750i xDrive (G11 / G12 facelift) models. Choose your year at the top of the page; figures and prices for each year are shown in the table above.
Yes. This page covers the facelifted 2020 to 2022 V8 7 Series, which BMW badged 750i xDrive in the US. The earlier 2016 to 2019 V8 cars, with the smaller grille and the previous version of the engine, have their own page: the 750i (G11 / G12).
Two cylinders and standard all-wheel drive. The 740i (G11 / G12) uses a 3.0-liter inline-six and was offered with rear-wheel drive, while the facelifted V8 car came only with xDrive. BMW quoted 5.3 seconds to 60 mph for the facelifted 740i, well behind the V8.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2022 car, Stage 1 takes it from 523 hp to 720 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 745 hp.
A TCU tune is available as an add-on ($1,999). It raises the transmission’s torque limits and sharpens the shifts so the gearbox can handle the extra power. Ship your TCU in the same box as your ECU.
