The car
Built in limited numbers from March 2023 and sold in the US as a 2024 model, the M3 CS is the quickest version of the G80 sedan. BMW developed it from the M3 Competition xDrive: the S58 twin-turbo inline-six gains output, while the eight-speed M Steptronic and rear-biased M xDrive carry over. BMW quotes 0–60 mph in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 188 mph.
Most of the weight saving comes from carbon fiber. The hood, roof, front splitter and rear diffuser are made of it, as are the center console and the shift paddles, and M Carbon bucket seats are standard; BMW puts the total at about 75 pounds against the M3 Competition xDrive. The adaptive M suspension has its own tuning for track driving, and M Drive Professional with a lap timer is included.
Outside, red contour lines on the frameless kidney grille and yellow daytime running lights identify the car.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 543 hp and 479 lb-ft to 750 hp and 730 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 785 hp and 750 lb-ft. The gearbox has its own controller and torque limits, so the optional TCU tune raises them to match, with sharper shifts and stronger clutch clamping.

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2023–2024 BMW M3 CS (G80) models. Choose your year at the top of the page; the figures and prices are the same for every year.
They share the S58 engine at the same factory rating, but the M4 CSL is a rear-wheel-drive coupe with its rear seats removed. The M3 CS keeps the sedan’s four doors, its rear seats and M xDrive all-wheel drive. Each has its own page.
Look at the front: the CS has a red outline around its frameless kidney grille and yellow daytime running lights, plus a carbon-fiber hood and splitter. Inside, M Carbon bucket seats come standard. If in doubt, the build sheet or window sticker names the model.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2024 car, Stage 1 takes it from 543 hp to 750 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 785 hp.
A TCU tune is available as an add-on ($1,999). It raises the transmission’s torque limits and sharpens the shifts so the gearbox can handle the extra power. Ship your TCU in the same box as your ECU.
