The car
Twelve cylinders set the M760Li apart from every other 7 Series of its generation. Introduced for 2017 as the first M Performance version of the 7, it was sold in the US as the M760i xDrive; the body is the same either way, since every US car of this generation was a long-wheelbase G12.
The 6.6-liter V12 uses two mono-scroll turbochargers mounted on the outside of the cylinder banks, each feeding one bank of six. An eight-speed Steptronic Sport with Launch Control drives all four wheels through an xDrive system tuned with a rear bias, and BMW quotes 0–60 mph in 3.6 seconds with a governed top speed of 155 mph.
The visual cues are deliberate but quiet: Cerium Grey trim, V12 badges on the rear pillars and a standard M aerodynamic package. The catalog covers 2017 through 2022, including the facelifted cars from 2020 with the enlarged grille.
On a 2022 car, Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 599 hp and 627 lb-ft to 700 hp and 700 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 730 hp and 750 lb-ft. The gearbox has its own controller and torque limits, so the optional TCU tune raises them to match, with sharper shifts and stronger clutch clamping.

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2017–2022 BMW M760i xDrive (G12) models. Choose your year at the top of the page; figures and prices for each year are shown in the table above.
In many markets the 7 Series came in two lengths, so BMW added an L to the long-wheelbase cars. Every US 7 Series of this generation had the long wheelbase, so BMW USA dropped the L from the badge. The M760i xDrive and the M760Li xDrive are the same long-wheelbase V12 sedan.
The 750i (G11 / G12) and the 750i xDrive (G11 / G12 facelift) use a 4.4-liter V8 with its turbochargers inside the vee. The M760Li’s V12 mounts them outboard, and the car adds M Performance suspension geometry, M Sport brakes and Integral Active Steering tuned specifically for it.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2022 car, Stage 1 takes it from 599 hp to 700 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 730 hp.
A TCU tune is available as an add-on ($1,999). It raises the transmission’s torque limits and sharpens the shifts so the gearbox can handle the extra power. Ship your TCU in the same box as your ECU.
