The car
Ferrari unveiled the 458 Italia in 2009 to replace the F430. Its successor, the 488 GTB, switched to turbocharging, so the 458 was the last naturally aspirated V8 in Ferrari’s line of mid-engine berlinettas.
Mounted behind the cabin is a 4.5-liter V8 with 200-bar direct injection that revs to 9,000 rpm. Ferrari developed the seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox from the one in the California, gave it sportier ratios and built the E-Diff 3 electronic differential into the same housing, and all of the drive goes to the rear wheels. Pininfarina and the Ferrari Centro Stile shaped the body, with small winglets in the nose that flex at speed to cut drag.
Both body styles are on this page. The Italia is the fixed-roof coupe. The 458 Spider, added in 2011, was the first car to combine a mid-rear engine with a retractable hard top: an aluminum roof that weighs 25 kg less than a fabric one and folds away in 14 seconds.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 570 hp and 398 lb-ft to 600 hp and 420 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 625 hp and 445 lb-ft.

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2010–2015 Ferrari 458 Italia / Spider models. Choose your year at the top of the page; the figures and prices are the same for every year.
Look at the roof. The Italia has a fixed roof, while the Spider carries a two-section aluminum hard top that retracts in 14 seconds. Underneath they share the 4.5-liter V8 and the dual-clutch gearbox, and Ferrari quotes the same 0–100 km/h time for both, with 199 mph for the Spider against over 202 mph for the coupe.
No. The 458 Speciale and Speciale A have their own page. Their V8 runs a higher 14.0:1 compression ratio, they add movable aerodynamic flaps at the front and rear, and they introduced Ferrari’s Side Slip Angle Control, so their factory figures differ from the Italia and Spider.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2015 car, Stage 1 takes it from 570 hp to 600 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 625 hp.
