About the Ferrari F8 Tributo / Spider

Ferrari named the F8 Tributo as a tribute to its V8, presenting it as an homage to the most powerful eight-cylinder in its history. It followed the 488 GTB, and its 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 matches the 488 Pista’s ratings rather than the GTB’s.

The S-Duct from the Pista was redesigned for a new nose and accounts for 15% of the extra downforce over the 488 GTB. At the back, a Lexan rear screen with three louvers recalls the F40 and lets heat out of the engine bay, and twin tail-light clusters on each side nod to the 308 GTB. Ferrari lists a dry weight of 1,330 kg against 1,370 kg for the 488 GTB. Drive goes to the rear wheels through a seven-speed F1 dual-clutch gearbox, with Side Slip Control 6.1 and the extended FDE+ version of the Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer.

The F8 Spider, also covered here, was designed around its retractable hard top.

Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 710 hp and 568 lb-ft to 830 hp and 685 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 900 hp and 735 lb-ft.

FAQ

F8 Tributo / Spider tuning questions

More answers in our FAQ

Which years of the F8 Tributo / Spider does this tune fit?

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2020–2024 Ferrari F8 Tributo / Spider models. Choose your year at the top of the page; the figures and prices are the same for every year.

How can I tell an F8 Tributo from the 488 GTB before it?

Check the nose and the tail. The F8 has the S-Duct opening across the front of the hood, a louvered Lexan rear screen over the engine in the style of the F40, and twin tail-light clusters on each side. The 488 GTB and Spider have their own page.

What is different about the F8 Spider?

It replaces the fixed roof with a retractable hard top, and Ferrari lists its dry weight at 1,400 kg against 1,330 kg for the Tributo. Both reach 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and share a 211 mph top speed; to 200 km/h the Spider takes 8.2 seconds and the coupe 7.8.

What is the difference between Stage 1 and Stage 2 on the F8 Tributo / Spider?

Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2024 car, Stage 1 takes it from 710 hp to 830 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 900 hp.
