About the Ferrari 488 Pista / Pista Spider

Pista means track in Italian, and this special series of the 488 was developed with Ferrari’s racing programs close at hand. It weighs 90 kg less than the 488 GTB.

The 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 takes its intake layout from the 488 Challenge: the air intakes move from the flanks to the rear spoiler and feed the plenums directly, which frees room for a larger intercooler, and Ferrari called it the most powerful V8 in its history at launch. An F1-inspired S-Duct routes air from the front bumper out through the hood to press the nose down, and the front diffusers use a ramp angle optimized on the 488 GTE. The seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and rear-wheel drive are managed by Side Slip Control 6.0 and the Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer, which made its debut here and adjusts brake pressure at the calipers through corners.

The page covers the coupe and the Pista Spider, which adds a retractable hard top.

Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 710 hp and 568 lb-ft to 830 hp and 635 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 900 hp and 770 lb-ft.

FAQ

488 Pista / Pista Spider tuning questions

More answers in our FAQ

Which years of the 488 Pista / Pista Spider does this tune fit?

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2019–2024 Ferrari 488 Pista / Pista Spider models. Choose your year at the top of the page; the figures and prices are the same for every year.

What did Ferrari change between the 488 GTB and the 488 Pista?

Weight, aerodynamics and the engine’s breathing. The Pista sheds 90 kg, gains the S-Duct and a bigger rear spoiler, and its V8 takes the 488 Challenge’s intake and radiator layout. It also adds the Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer and Michelin Sport Cup 2 tires. The standard 488 GTB and Spider have their own page.

How is the Pista Spider different from the Pista coupe?

It has a retractable hard top and, by Ferrari’s figures, weighs 100 kg more dry. Ferrari lists the same 2.85 seconds to 100 km/h and the same top speed for both, while the run to 200 km/h takes 8.0 seconds in the Spider against 7.6 in the coupe.

What is the difference between Stage 1 and Stage 2 on the 488 Pista / Pista Spider?

Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2024 car, Stage 1 takes it from 710 hp to 830 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 900 hp.
