The car
Ferrari’s front-engine V12 berlinetta for 2012 was the F12berlinetta, which replaced the 599 GTB Fiorano and set out to be smaller, lighter and lower than it. Ferrari quotes 70 kg less weight, a center of gravity 25 mm lower, and a body 47 mm shorter, 63 mm lower and 20 mm narrower.
Its 6.3-liter naturally aspirated V12 sits 30 mm lower and further back in the chassis than the 599’s and revs to 8,700 rpm. A seven-speed F1 dual-clutch gearbox with an integrated electronic differential is mounted at the rear in a transaxle and drives the rear wheels, giving a 46/54 front-to-rear weight split.
Aerodynamics were a priority. The Aero Bridge put the hood to work generating downforce, a first for Ferrari, while Active Brake Cooling opens guide vanes in the brake ducts only when the brakes need the air, so drag stays low the rest of the time. Its successor is the 812 Superfast.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 730 hp and 509 lb-ft to 790 hp and 545 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 810 hp and 560 lb-ft.

It is lighter by 70 kg and smaller in every direction, with the V12 mounted lower and further back. Ferrari also claims a 30 percent cut in fuel consumption against the 599 despite the extra performance, helped by the new engine’s injection and multi-spark ignition systems.
The 812 Superfast that followed has a larger 6.5-liter V12 and adds electric power steering and rear-wheel steering, neither of which the F12berlinetta has. Ferrari quotes 0–100 km/h in 3.1 seconds for the F12 against 2.9 for the 812. Each car has its own page.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2017 car, Stage 1 takes it from 730 hp to 790 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 810 hp.
