The car
The 720S moved McLaren’s mid-engine supercar to a larger engine. Its M840T is a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with 41 percent new parts compared with the 3.8-liter unit, driving the rear wheels through a seven-speed SSG dual-clutch gearbox, and the carbon-fiber tub is a new design called Monocage II.
Lightest dry weight is 1,283 kg (2,828 pounds). McLaren quotes 0–60 mph in 2.8 seconds, 0–124 mph in 7.8 seconds and a top speed of 212 mph, and first deliveries came in May 2017.
Three other cars in our catalog build on it: the Senna, whose Monocage III was developed from the 720S tub, the limited-run 765LT, and the 750S, in which McLaren says about 30 percent of components are new or changed.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 720 hp and 568 lb-ft to 850 hp and 710 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 920 hp and 730 lb-ft.

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2018–2023 McLaren 720S models. Choose your year at the top of the page; the figures and prices are the same for every year.
The Spider uses a Monocage II-S tub with a retractable hard top and weighs only 108 pounds more. McLaren quotes the same 2.8 seconds to 60 mph, 7.9 seconds to 124 mph and 212 mph with the roof up, or 202 mph with it down. Spider deliveries began in March 2019.
The 765LT is a lighter, limited-production development of the 720S with more downforce and a stronger version of the same 4.0-liter V8. Our catalog lists it with a higher factory rating than the 720S, and it has its own page, 765LT.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2023 car, Stage 1 takes it from 720 hp to 850 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 920 hp.
