The car
Despite the badge, the AMG GT 4-Door Coupé is a different car from the two-seat AMG GT: a four-door fastback with room for up to five, although US cars come with two individual rear seats as standard. It carries the GT family’s long hood and low greenhouse into a car meant for everyday use.
The GT 63 uses AMG’s hand-built 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, which shuts down four of its cylinders at part load, with the nine-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT and its wet start-off clutch and fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive. Multi-chamber air suspension, rear-axle steering and an electronically controlled limited-slip differential are standard; Drift Mode was an option.
Mercedes-Benz estimates 0–60 mph in 3.3 seconds and limits top speed to 193 mph. For 2023 the V8 cars received a restyled front with wider outer air intakes.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 577 hp and 590 lb-ft to 760 hp and 735 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 800 hp and 750 lb-ft. The gearbox has its own controller and torque limits, so the optional TCU tune raises them to match, with sharper shifts and stronger clutch clamping.

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2019–2024 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 63 4-Door Coupé (X290) models. Choose your year at the top of the page; the figures and prices are the same for every year.
More power from the V8, and standard hardware that costs extra or is missing here. Drift Mode and dynamic engine mounts, both options on the GT 63, come fitted, along with the RACE program and bigger wheels. Its figures and prices are on the AMG GT 63 S 4-Door Coupé (X290) page.
They share the body but not the drivetrain. The GT 43 and GT 53 use six-cylinder engines with a torque-converter AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT nine-speed, steel springs instead of air suspension, and a 4MATIC+ system without Drift Mode. Each of them has its own page.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2024 car, Stage 1 takes it from 577 hp to 760 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 800 hp.
A TCU tune is available as an add-on ($2,399). It raises the transmission’s torque limits and sharpens the shifts so the gearbox can handle the extra power. Ship your TCU in the same box as your ECU.
