The car
In the W205 C-Class the C43 is the six-cylinder AMG, slotted between the C300 and the V8 C63. It came to the US for 2016 as the C450 AMG 4MATIC sedan with a seven-speed automatic, took the Mercedes-AMG C43 name for 2017 together with a nine-speed gearbox, and was joined that year by a coupe and a cabriolet.
Every version has an AMG-enhanced 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 and AMG Performance 4MATIC, which from 2017 splits torque 31:69 between the front and rear axles. The update for 2019 raised the V6’s output, renamed the gearbox AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G and added a twin-louver AMG grille, round twin tailpipe trims and an optional digital instrument cluster. Mercedes-Benz quotes 0–60 mph in 4.6 seconds before the update and 4.5 after it.
The W205 sedan ended with the 2021 model year, and the C43 sedan that followed for 2023 belongs to the next generation, with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder. The coupe and cabriolet kept the V6 and were offered through the 2023 model year.
On a 2024 car, Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 380 hp and 384 lb-ft to 420 hp and 485 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 455 hp and 520 lb-ft. The gearbox has its own controller and torque limits, so the optional TCU tune raises them to match, with sharper shifts and stronger clutch clamping.

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 Mercedes-Benz C43 AMG (W205) models. Choose your year at the top of the page; figures and prices for each year are shown in the table above.
The sedan from 2016, when it was badged C450 AMG, to 2021, and the coupe and cabriolet from 2017 to 2023, all with the twin-turbo V6. The C43 sedan sold for 2023 and 2024 is the next-generation C-Class, with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder, an electric exhaust-gas turbocharger and rear-axle steering, so it is a different car from the one described here.
The C63 and C63 S use AMG’s hand-built 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 and drive only the rear wheels. The C43 has the twin-turbo V6, all-wheel drive with a rear bias and a nine-speed automatic with a torque converter. The V8 cars have their own pages, C63 AMG (W205) and C63 S AMG (W205).
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2024 car, Stage 1 takes it from 380 hp to 420 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 455 hp.
A TCU tune is available as an add-on ($2,399). It raises the transmission’s torque limits and sharpens the shifts so the gearbox can handle the extra power. Ship your TCU in the same box as your ECU.
