The car
Mercedes-AMG built the W205 C-Class with two strengths of the same V8, and the C63 S is the stronger. It keeps the C63’s hand-built 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine, seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT and rear-wheel drive, then adds what the standard car goes without: an electronically controlled rear limited-slip differential, dynamic engine mounts that stiffen or soften with the driving, 19-inch wheels and 15.4-inch front brake discs.
The sedan arrived in the US in spring 2015 as a 2015 model. The coupe reached dealers in the summer of 2016 as a 2017 model, with flared fenders, a wider track and its own rear axle carrier, and a cabriolet joined it for the same model year.
Figures vary a little by body: Mercedes-Benz quotes 0–60 mph in 3.8 seconds for the coupe, 3.9 for the sedan and 4.0 for the cabriolet, with the limiter set at 180 mph on the sedan and coupe and 174 mph on the cabriolet.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 503 hp and 517 lb-ft to 630 hp and 650 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 650 hp and 670 lb-ft. The gearbox has its own controller and torque limits, so the optional TCU tune raises them to match, with sharper shifts and stronger clutch clamping.

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2015–2018 Mercedes-Benz C63 S AMG (W205) models. Choose your year at the top of the page; the figures and prices are the same for every year.
Both use the same 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 and seven-speed MCT. The S version is rated higher, uses an electronic rather than mechanical rear differential for faster, more precise control, and has dynamic engine mounts and bigger front brakes as standard. The C63 is covered on the C63 AMG (W205) page.
No. Our catalog lists the C63 S for 2015–2018. The updated car that followed has a nine-speed MCT, an AMG grille with vertical louvers and revised drive programs, and it is not part of this listing. Contact us if you would like to ask about tuning one.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2018 car, Stage 1 takes it from 503 hp to 630 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 650 hp.
A TCU tune is available as an add-on ($2,399). It raises the transmission’s torque limits and sharpens the shifts so the gearbox can handle the extra power. Ship your TCU in the same box as your ECU.
