The car
Three versions of the E-Class have carried the E450 badge in the US. It replaced the E400 for 2019 with an uprated 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6, offered as a 4MATIC sedan and wagon and as a coupe and cabriolet with rear-wheel drive or 4MATIC.
With the 2021 update the V6 gave way to a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six with EQ Boost, an integrated starter-generator on a 48-volt system, while the 9G-TRONIC nine-speed stayed. The update also brought new front and rear styling, the MBUX system and a new steering wheel, and the wagon became the E450 All-Terrain.
For 2024 the E450 belongs to the new E-Class generation, offered as a 4MATIC sedan and All-Terrain wagon, with a more powerful mild-hybrid six, optional 4.5-degree rear-axle steering and an available AIRMATIC package. Mercedes-Benz quotes 0–60 mph in 4.4 seconds for the 2024 sedan, against 4.9 to 5.2 seconds for the 2019–2023 cars, all limited to 130 mph.
On a 2024 car, Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 362 hp and 370 lb-ft to 430 hp and 470 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 450 hp and 485 lb-ft. The gearbox has its own controller and torque limits, so the optional TCU tune raises them to match, with sharper shifts and stronger clutch clamping.

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2019–2024 Mercedes-Benz E450 models. Choose your year at the top of the page; figures and prices for each year are shown in the table above.
Go by model year. A 2019 or 2020 E450 has the twin-turbo V6. A 2021 to 2023 car has the inline-six with EQ Boost and the updated styling, with a reshaped trunk lid and taillights on the sedan. A 2024 sedan is the new generation, with flush door handles and a black panel joining the grille to the headlights.
From 2021 both use a 3.0-liter inline-six with a 48-volt starter-generator, but the E53 adds an electric auxiliary compressor, the AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT nine-speed and AMG Performance 4MATIC+ with variable torque distribution. It is covered on its own page, E53 AMG (W213).
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2024 car, Stage 1 takes it from 362 hp to 430 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 450 hp.
A TCU tune is available as an add-on ($2,399). It raises the transmission’s torque limits and sharpens the shifts so the gearbox can handle the extra power. Ship your TCU in the same box as your ECU.
