The car
The S version of the GLC63 shares its hand-built 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, nine-speed MCT, 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive and multi-chamber air suspension, but leaves the factory with a higher rating and, from the start, an electronic rear limited-slip differential where the standard car began with a mechanical one.
When the range was updated in 2019, an electronically controlled differential lock became standard on both, while dynamic engine mounts and the Master setting of AMG DYNAMICS are reserved for the S. That year a GLC63 S lapped the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 7:49.369, at the time the fastest SUV on the circuit.
Mercedes-Benz quotes 0–60 mph in 3.7 seconds for the 2018 Coupe and 3.6 seconds for the 2020, with an electronic limit of 174 mph.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 503 hp and 517 lb-ft to 630 hp and 650 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 650 hp and 670 lb-ft. The gearbox has its own controller and torque limits, so the optional TCU tune raises them to match, with sharper shifts and stronger clutch clamping.

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2016–2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC63 S AMG (X253 / C253) models. Choose your year at the top of the page; the figures and prices are the same for every year.
Not in the years this page covers. Mercedes-Benz USA offered the GLC63 S as a Coupe, the C253 with the sloping roof, and announced the GLC63 S SUV as newly available in the US for the 2022 model year. The standard GLC63 was sold as both SUV and Coupe.
Same engine, gearbox and drive, with more output from the V8, dynamic engine mounts and a 174 mph limiter instead of 155 mph. Before the 2019 update the S also had the electronic rear differential where the GLC63 had a mechanical one. The GLC63 has its own page.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2020 car, Stage 1 takes it from 503 hp to 630 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 650 hp.
A TCU tune is available as an add-on ($2,399). It raises the transmission’s torque limits and sharpens the shifts so the gearbox can handle the extra power. Ship your TCU in the same box as your ECU.
