The car
In the V167 generation of the GLE, AMG paired its hand-built 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with an EQ Boost starter-generator and a 48-volt electrical system for the first time. The starter-generator adds brief electric assistance, and the 48-volt system powers ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL, which adds active roll stabilization to the air suspension and adaptive damping.
Unlike the C63 and E63 of its era, it uses a torque-converter automatic, the nine-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G, feeding fully variable 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive with an electronically controlled locking differential at the rear axle.
In the US Mercedes-Benz sold this generation as the GLE63 S, as an SUV and, from fall 2020, as a Coupe (C167); the updated 2024 models reached dealers in 2023. Mercedes estimates 0–60 mph in 3.7 seconds for both bodies.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 563 hp and 553 lb-ft to 760 hp and 735 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 800 hp and 750 lb-ft. The gearbox has its own controller and torque limits, so the optional TCU tune raises them to match, with sharper shifts and stronger clutch clamping.

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2020–2024 Mercedes-Benz GLE63 AMG models. Choose your year at the top of the page; the figures and prices are the same for every year.
The W166 and C292 GLE63 models sold up to 2019 used a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 with the seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC and had no 48-volt system. They are not part of this listing, which covers the 2020–2024 years in our catalog.
The GLE53, which has its own page, uses an AMG-enhanced 3.0-liter inline six with a turbocharger, an electric auxiliary compressor and EQ Boost. The GLE63 has the hand-built V8 with EQ Boost, ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL and the electronically controlled rear locking differential.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2024 car, Stage 1 takes it from 563 hp to 760 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 800 hp.
A TCU tune is available as an add-on ($2,399). It raises the transmission’s torque limits and sharpens the shifts so the gearbox can handle the extra power. Ship your TCU in the same box as your ECU.
