The car
Built in 2019 to mark 70 years of Porsche sports cars, the 911 Speedster was limited to 1,948 cars, a number taken from the year of the 356 “No. 1” Roadster. It closed out the 991 generation as an open two-seater with a GT3 drivetrain.
Under the carbon-fiber rear cover with its double-bubble fairings sits the 4.0-liter, 9,000 rpm flat-six of the 991.2 GT3, here with individual throttle bodies and two gasoline particulate filters. It drives the rear wheels through a six-speed GT manual with automatic throttle blips, the only gearbox offered.
The windshield frame is cut down by 50 millimeters, the side windows are smaller and the fabric top is a lightweight design. The carbon hood is 2 kg lighter than the GT3’s, the carbon front fenders come from the 911 R, and the chassis, with rear-axle steering and dynamic engine mounts, is the GT3’s.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 503 hp and 347 lb-ft to 540 hp and 380 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 555 hp and 395 lb-ft. The gearbox has its own controller and torque limits, so the optional TCU tune raises them to match, with sharper shifts and stronger clutch clamping.

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2019 Porsche 911 Speedster (991.2) models. Choose your year at the top of the page; the figures and prices are the same for every year.
An option created by Style Porsche and Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur that recalls the 1950s and 1960s: white “spears” on the front over GT Silver Metallic paint, period-style racing decals with an owner-chosen start number, gold-colored logos and a black and cognac interior.
It takes the GT3’s engine and chassis, adding particulate filters and individual throttle bodies, but is manual only, has a cut-down windshield and fabric top, and uses carbon body panels. The coupe is listed as 911 GT3 (991.2).
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2019 car, Stage 1 takes it from 503 hp to 540 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 555 hp.
A TCU tune is available as an add-on ($1,999). It raises the transmission’s torque limits and sharpens the shifts so the gearbox can handle the extra power. Ship your TCU in the same box as your ECU.
