The car
A ducktail spoiler in the style of the 1972 911 Carrera RS 2.7 sets the 992.1 Sport Classic apart. It is the second of four Heritage Design models, built by Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur in a run of 1,250 cars and sold in the US for the 2023 model year, the first Sport Classic offered here.
It is based on the 911 Turbo S and uses its wide body, but the Turbo’s twin-turbo flat-six is remapped to work with a seven-speed manual, and only the rear wheels are driven. At launch that made it the most powerful manual 911 on sale. Carbon-ceramic brakes, PDCC, rear-axle steering, Sport Chrono, a model-specific sport exhaust and PASM Sport 10 mm lower are standard, with softer front springs than the all-wheel-drive Turbo S.
The carbon-fiber hood dips in the center, a shape not offered on the Turbo, and the carbon roof has a double bubble like the 997-based Sport Classic of 2009. It was the first car painted Sport Grey Metallic, and the cabin pairs Pepita-pattern fabric with Black and Classic Cognac leather.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 542 hp and 443 lb-ft to 740 hp and 680 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 780 hp and 710 lb-ft.

It trades the Turbo’s eight-speed PDK and all-wheel drive for a seven-speed manual and rear-wheel drive, replaces the active rear wing with a fixed ducktail and adds a carbon hood and double-bubble roof. The Turbo is listed as 911 Turbo (992.1).
No. Porsche’s first Sport Classic, presented in 2009, was based on the 997 generation and was not offered in the US. This 992.1 car is the second to carry the name and the only Sport Classic in our catalog.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2024 car, Stage 1 takes it from 542 hp to 740 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 780 hp.
