The car
For the 991 generation, sold from the 2014 model year, the 911 Turbo came only with a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox; no manual was offered. Power reaches all four wheels through Porsche Traction Management, which uses an electronically controlled multi-plate center clutch and a locking rear differential.
Its 3.8-liter flat-six has two turbochargers with variable turbine geometry, direct injection and dry-sump lubrication with seven oil pumps, and it revs to 7,000 rpm, 200 rpm short of the Turbo S.
Two technologies it shared with the 918 Spyder define the chassis. Rear-axle steering turns the rear wheels against the fronts at low speed for agility and with them at higher speed for stability, and adaptive aerodynamics with a retractable rear wing offer separate Speed and Performance settings. The Turbo was built as a coupe or cabriolet, with steel brakes where the Turbo S has carbon-ceramic discs.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 513 hp and 487 lb-ft to 660 hp and 670 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 680 hp and 690 lb-ft. The gearbox has its own controller and torque limits, so the optional TCU tune raises them to match, with sharper shifts and stronger clutch clamping.

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2014–2016 Porsche 911 Turbo (991.1) models. Choose your year at the top of the page; the figures and prices are the same for every year.
The two share the engine, gearbox and drive system. The Turbo S carries a higher output rating and a 7,200 rpm redline, and it comes with carbon-ceramic brakes, Sport Chrono and Turbo S center-lock wheels as standard. It has its own page and figures: 911 Turbo S (991.1).
No. That is the 991.2 Turbo, which gained revised intake ports, new injectors, higher fuel pressure and a dynamic boost function, along with three-dimensional taillights with four-point brake lights. It is listed as 911 Turbo (991.2).
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2016 car, Stage 1 takes it from 513 hp to 660 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 680 hp.
A TCU tune is available as an add-on ($1,999). It raises the transmission’s torque limits and sharpens the shifts so the gearbox can handle the extra power. Ship your TCU in the same box as your ECU.
