The car
The Turbo S topped the 991.1 Turbo line from 2014 to 2016. It uses the same 3.8-liter VTG twin-turbo engine as the 911 Turbo, rated for more output and allowed to rev to 7,200 rpm instead of 7,000, and it fits as standard much of the hardware that is optional on the Turbo.
That standard list includes carbon-ceramic brakes with yellow calipers, the Sport Chrono Package, and 20-inch center-lock wheels in a ten-double-spoke design. Everything else follows the Turbo: seven-speed PDK, all-wheel drive with an electronically controlled center clutch, rear-axle steering, and adaptive aerodynamics with a wing that extends at speed.
Porsche offered it as a coupe and as a cabriolet. The coupe reaches 60 mph in 2.9 seconds and the cabriolet in 3.0 seconds, according to Porsche, and both share a 197 mph top speed. Its successor, the 991.2 Turbo S, arrived for the 2017 model year.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 552 hp and 516 lb-ft to 660 hp and 670 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 680 hp and 690 lb-ft. The gearbox has its own controller and torque limits, so the optional TCU tune raises them to match, with sharper shifts and stronger clutch clamping.

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2014–2016 Porsche 911 Turbo S (991.1) models. Choose your year at the top of the page; the figures and prices are the same for every year.
Output and equipment. The Turbo S engine is rated higher and revs 200 rpm further, and the car adds carbon-ceramic brakes, Sport Chrono and center-lock wheels, which were extra-cost options or unavailable on the Turbo. The Turbo is listed separately as 911 Turbo (991.1).
The 991.2 Turbo S, sold from the 2017 model year, has new turbochargers with larger compressors, and its center-lock wheels have seven double spokes instead of ten. It also gained a mode switch on the steering wheel. That car is listed as 911 Turbo S (991.2).
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2016 car, Stage 1 takes it from 552 hp to 660 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 680 hp.
A TCU tune is available as an add-on ($1,999). It raises the transmission’s torque limits and sharpens the shifts so the gearbox can handle the extra power. Ship your TCU in the same box as your ECU.
