About the Porsche Cayenne GTS (E3.1)

Eight cylinders returned to the Cayenne GTS with this generation. The previous GTS used a 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6; the E3 car has a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, an engine Porsche shared with the Panamera GTS (971.1), driving all four wheels through the eight-speed Tiptronic S.

In the range the GTS sits between the S and the Turbo. Its three-chamber air suspension and revised dampers lower the body 30 mm compared with the Cayenne S, and the specification adds a sport exhaust, Torque Vectoring Plus and satin-black 21-inch RS Spyder Design wheels.

The SUV and the Coupe arrived together. Sport Chrono is standard on the Coupe and optional on the SUV, and with it Porsche’s 0–60 mph time falls from 4.5 to 4.2 seconds.

Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 454 hp and 457 lb-ft to 675 hp and 690 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 720 hp and 738 lb-ft. The gearbox has its own controller and torque limits, so the optional TCU tune raises them to match, with sharper shifts and stronger clutch clamping.

FAQ

Cayenne GTS (E3.1) tuning questions

More answers in our FAQ

Which years of the Cayenne GTS (E3.1) does this tune fit?

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2020–2023 Porsche Cayenne GTS (E3.1) models. Choose your year at the top of the page; the figures and prices are the same for every year.

How does the GTS differ from the Cayenne Turbo (E3.1)?

Both carry a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 and the Tiptronic S, but the Turbo has more power, a 177 mph top speed and an adaptive roof spoiler. The GTS instead is built around a ride height 30 mm below the Cayenne S, a standard sport exhaust and satin-black wheels, and it has its own page and figures.

Which body styles does this page cover?

Both. The GTS was offered as the SUV and as the Coupe, which has a roofline 20 mm lower and Sport Chrono as standard. They share the V8, gearbox and figures shown on this page.

What is the difference between Stage 1 and Stage 2 on the Cayenne GTS (E3.1)?

Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2023 car, Stage 1 takes it from 454 hp to 675 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 720 hp.

Do I need a TCU tune for the Cayenne GTS (E3.1)?

A TCU tune is available as an add-on ($1,999). It raises the transmission’s torque limits and sharpens the shifts so the gearbox can handle the extra power. Ship your TCU in the same box as your ECU.
