About the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT (E3.1)

Built only as a Coupe, the Turbo GT is the track-focused Cayenne. In June 2021 a production prototype fitted with a racing seat lapped the 20.832 km Nürburgring Nordschleife in 7:38.925, a time notarized as a record for SUVs, ahead of US deliveries for the 2022 model year.

Its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 is based on the Cayenne Turbo’s but reworked, with a modified crankshaft, pistons, connecting rods, timing chain and torsional dampers. The eight-speed Tiptronic S was revised for quicker shifts, and the all-wheel-drive system gained a water-cooled transfer case. Porsche’s figures are 3.1 seconds to 60 mph and a 186 mph top speed.

The car sits 17 mm lower than the Turbo Coupe and carries a titanium sport exhaust without a center muffler, a carbon-fiber roof, carbon-ceramic brakes and 22-inch wheels on Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires developed for it. Two individual sport seats take the place of a rear bench.

Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 631 hp and 627 lb-ft to 770 hp and 769 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 800 hp and 805 lb-ft. The gearbox has its own controller and torque limits, so the optional TCU tune raises them to match, with sharper shifts and stronger clutch clamping.

FAQ

Cayenne Turbo GT (E3.1) tuning questions

More answers in our FAQ

Which years of the Cayenne Turbo GT (E3.1) does this tune fit?

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2022–2023 Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT (E3.1) models. Choose your year at the top of the page; the figures and prices are the same for every year.

Is there a Turbo GT SUV, or only the Coupe?

Only the Coupe. Porsche built the E3.1 Turbo GT in that body alone, with two individual rear seats as standard, for the 2022 and 2023 model years. A Cayenne SUV with a Turbo badge is the Cayenne Turbo (E3.1), which has its own page.

How much of the Turbo GT is shared with the Cayenne Turbo?

The basic 4.0-liter V8, the Tiptronic S gearbox and the Coupe body come from the Turbo Coupe. Most of what surrounds them is new: internal engine parts, shift programming, transfer-case cooling, exhaust, suspension height, brakes, wheels and tires. On paper the GT is 0.6 seconds quicker to 60 mph than a Turbo with Sport Chrono.

What is the difference between Stage 1 and Stage 2 on the Cayenne Turbo GT (E3.1)?

Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2023 car, Stage 1 takes it from 631 hp to 770 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 800 hp.

Do I need a TCU tune for the Cayenne Turbo GT (E3.1)?

A TCU tune is available as an add-on ($1,999). It raises the transmission’s torque limits and sharpens the shifts so the gearbox can handle the extra power. Ship your TCU in the same box as your ECU.
