About the Porsche Macan (95B.1)

The four-cylinder Macan brought the compact Porsche SUV to a lower price, added below the V6 models after they had launched the range. It uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four in place of their twin-turbo V6 engines and is the only first-generation Macan without six cylinders.

The engine is built differently as well as being smaller: Porsche lists a cast-iron crankcase with aluminum heads and wet-sump lubrication, where the six-cylinder engines have aluminum blocks and dry-sump oiling. Power still goes through the seven-speed PDK to Porsche Traction Management all-wheel drive.

Lighter running gear completes the package, with 18-inch wheels, four-piston front calipers painted black and smaller brake rotors than the Macan S. The official figures are 6.3 seconds from 0–60 mph, 6.1 with Sport Chrono, and a top speed of 142 mph.

Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 249 hp and 273 lb-ft to 310 hp and 335 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 325 hp and 350 lb-ft. The gearbox has its own controller and torque limits, so the optional TCU tune raises them to match, with sharper shifts and stronger clutch clamping.

FAQ

Macan (95B.1) tuning questions

More answers in our FAQ

Which years of the Macan (95B.1) does this tune fit?

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2015–2018 Porsche Macan (95B.1) models. Choose your year at the top of the page; the figures and prices are the same for every year.

How can I tell this Macan from the facelifted Macan (95B.2)?

Look at the rear. The 95B.1 has separate tail lights at each corner, while the 95B.2, revealed in 2018, links them with a full-width LED strip across the tailgate and has a larger 10.9-inch touchscreen inside. The facelifted four-cylinder car has its own page.

Does it share an engine with the Macan S (95B.1)?

No. The Macan S has a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6, while this model has the 2.0-liter four-cylinder. They share the PDK gearbox and all-wheel drive, but each engine has its own catalog entry.

What is the difference between Stage 1 and Stage 2 on the Macan (95B.1)?

Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2018 car, Stage 1 takes it from 249 hp to 310 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 325 hp.

Do I need a TCU tune for the Macan (95B.1)?

A TCU tune is available as an add-on ($1,999). It raises the transmission’s torque limits and sharpens the shifts so the gearbox can handle the extra power. Ship your TCU in the same box as your ECU.
