About the Porsche Macan S (95B.1)

When the Macan went on sale for the 2015 model year, the Macan S was the more affordable of the two launch versions, below the Macan Turbo. It gave Porsche a compact SUV smaller than the Cayenne, built on a body that combines steel and aluminum.

Its 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 has a 90-degree bank angle, an aluminum block and heads, and integrated dry-sump lubrication. A seven-speed PDK is standard, and Porsche Traction Management sends drive to the front axle through an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch.

Porsche quotes 0–60 mph in 5.2 seconds, or 5.0 with Sport Chrono, and 156 mph flat out. Standard equipment included 19-inch Macan Design wheels and six-piston front calipers finished in silver. From late 2015 a stronger version of the same V6 powered the GTS, and later a four-cylinder Macan arrived below the S.

Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 335 hp and 339 lb-ft to 400 hp and 460 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 415 hp and 490 lb-ft. The gearbox has its own controller and torque limits, so the optional TCU tune raises them to match, with sharper shifts and stronger clutch clamping.

FAQ

Macan S (95B.1) tuning questions

More answers in our FAQ

Which years of the Macan S (95B.1) does this tune fit?

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2015–2018 Porsche Macan S (95B.1) models. Choose your year at the top of the page; the figures and prices are the same for every year.

How is it different from the Macan S (95B.2)?

The facelifted Macan S, revealed in 2018, uses a different 3.0-liter V6 with one twin-scroll turbocharger placed inside the V, from the engine family of the Cayenne and Panamera. It also has the full-width rear light. The two generations are separate catalog entries with their own pages.

What does the Macan GTS (95B.1) add to this car?

The GTS keeps the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 at higher output and adds PASM lowered by 15 millimeters, a sport exhaust, 20-inch wheels with wider tires and larger front brakes. It is listed separately as Macan GTS (95B.1).

What is the difference between Stage 1 and Stage 2 on the Macan S (95B.1)?

Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2018 car, Stage 1 takes it from 335 hp to 400 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 415 hp.

Do I need a TCU tune for the Macan S (95B.1)?

A TCU tune is available as an add-on ($1,999). It raises the transmission’s torque limits and sharpens the shifts so the gearbox can handle the extra power. Ship your TCU in the same box as your ECU.
