The car
Six cylinders, two turbochargers and all-wheel drive: the 4S is the most powerful gasoline V6 Panamera of the 2021–2023 range, below the V8 GTS and alongside the plug-in 4S E-Hybrid. The update kept its 2.9-liter twin-turbo engine and eight-speed PDK and made adaptive air suspension standard, where it had been an option on the earlier 4S.
With the optional Sport Chrono Package it needs 3.9 seconds to reach 60 mph, a tenth less than before, and it is 4 mph faster than the 2020 car at the top end, at 183 mph. Like the rest of the updated range it has the SportDesign front with large side cooling openings and a recalibrated chassis and steering.
The 4S was available as a sedan, as a Sport Turismo and as the Executive, which stretches the wheelbase by 5.9 inches for rear-seat room.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 443 hp and 405 lb-ft to 530 hp and 630 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 550 hp and 650 lb-ft. The gearbox has its own controller and torque limits, so the optional TCU tune raises them to match, with sharper shifts and stronger clutch clamping.

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2021–2023 Porsche Panamera 4S (971.2) models. Choose your year at the top of the page; the figures and prices are the same for every year.
On its own page, Panamera 4S E-Hybrid (971.2). The plug-in car adds an electric motor in the gearbox and a 17.9 kWh battery to a V6 of the same displacement. This page is for the gasoline-only 4S in all three body styles.
The engine family and gearbox carried over. Air suspension became standard, the dampers and steering were recalibrated, the SportDesign front became standard and Porsche quotes a higher top speed. The 2017–2020 car has its own page, Panamera S / 4S (971.1).
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2023 car, Stage 1 takes it from 443 hp to 530 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 550 hp.
A TCU tune is available as an add-on ($1,999). It raises the transmission’s torque limits and sharpens the shifts so the gearbox can handle the extra power. Ship your TCU in the same box as your ECU.
