The car
A light strip that runs seamlessly across the tailgate and a SportDesign front fascia, previously an option, mark the 2021 update of the second-generation Panamera. For the entry models the bigger change is under the hood: the 3.0-liter single-turbo V6 of the 2017–2020 US cars gave way to a 2.9-liter V6 with two turbochargers, the engine Porsche fitted to these models in every market from then on.
Rear-wheel drive remains exclusive to the plain Panamera. The Panamera 4 adds all-wheel drive and was also offered as the Sport Turismo and the long-wheelbase Executive. Both shift through the eight-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox.
Across the 2021 range Porsche recalibrated the adaptive dampers and steering, and Lane Keep Assist became standard. For 2022 it added Platinum Edition versions of the Panamera and Panamera 4, with satin-platinum 21-inch wheels, LED Matrix headlights and adaptive air suspension.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 325 hp and 331 lb-ft to 530 hp and 630 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 550 hp and 650 lb-ft. The gearbox has its own controller and torque limits, so the optional TCU tune raises them to match, with sharper shifts and stronger clutch clamping.

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2021–2023 Porsche Panamera / Panamera 4 (971.2) models. Choose your year at the top of the page; the figures and prices are the same for every year.
Model year is the simplest guide: the 971.2 covers 2021–2023, shown as M, N or P in the tenth character of the VIN. On the car, look for the standard SportDesign front with its single-bar light modules. Under the hood, the entry cars of this update have two turbochargers rather than one.
No. The plug-in Panamera 4 E-Hybrid pairs this 2.9-liter V6 with an electric motor in the PDK and a 17.9 kWh battery, and our catalog lists it separately as Panamera E-Hybrid / 4 E-Hybrid (971.2). Only the gasoline Panamera and Panamera 4 are covered here.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2023 car, Stage 1 takes it from 325 hp to 530 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 550 hp.
A TCU tune is available as an add-on ($1,999). It raises the transmission’s torque limits and sharpens the shifts so the gearbox can handle the extra power. Ship your TCU in the same box as your ECU.
