The car
New with the 2021 update, the 4S E-Hybrid gave the plug-in Panamera a middle step between the 4 E-Hybrid and the Turbo S E-Hybrid. Porsche’s US announcement compared its performance with that of the outgoing Panamera Turbo.
It combines the 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 of the gasoline 4S with an electric motor built into the eight-speed PDK and a 17.9 kWh battery, and Porsche says its electric range is up to 30 percent greater than that of the earlier hybrids. Using Launch Control, the sedan reaches 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, and its top speed is 185 mph.
All-wheel drive is standard, as are eight-way power comfort seats with memory. The 4S E-Hybrid was offered as a sedan, a Sport Turismo and a long-wheelbase Executive.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 552 hp and 553 lb-ft to 660 hp and 650 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 680 hp and 685 lb-ft. The gearbox has its own controller and torque limits, so the optional TCU tune raises them to match, with sharper shifts and stronger clutch clamping.

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2021–2023 Porsche Panamera 4S E-Hybrid (971.2) models. Choose your year at the top of the page; the figures and prices are the same for every year.
Porsche did not offer one. In the 2017–2020 Panamera the plug-in choices were the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid and the Turbo S E-Hybrid. The 4S E-Hybrid name first appeared with the 971.2 update, so any 2021–2023 Panamera with this badge belongs on this page.
The V6 is shared, but the hybrid adds the motor and battery, so it can drive on electricity, reaches 60 mph in 3.5 seconds against 3.9 for the 4S with Sport Chrono, and is 2 mph faster at the top end. The gasoline 4S is listed on a separate page.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2023 car, Stage 1 takes it from 552 hp to 660 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 680 hp.
A TCU tune is available as an add-on ($1,999). It raises the transmission’s torque limits and sharpens the shifts so the gearbox can handle the extra power. Ship your TCU in the same box as your ECU.
