The car
Porsche rebuilt the Panamera on a new platform for the 2017 model year, and this page covers the two cars that open that second generation. The Panamera is the only rear-wheel-drive version of the 971.1; the Panamera 4 adds Porsche Traction Management all-wheel drive and was also built as the long-wheelbase Executive and, from 2018, as the Sport Turismo.
Both use a 3.0-liter V6 with a single twin-scroll turbocharger set inside the V. The Panamera 4S of the same years has a 2.9-liter V6 with two turbochargers, and from 2021 the entry cars moved to a twin-turbo 2.9-liter as well. Power reaches the road through an eight-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox, a first for Porsche when the 971 launched.
Choosing between the two is a trade of traction against top speed. With Sport Chrono, Porsche quotes 5.2 seconds to 60 mph for the rear-drive car and 5.0 for the Panamera 4, while the rear-drive car runs on to 164 mph against 162.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 325 hp and 332 lb-ft to 425 hp and 440 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 460 hp and 480 lb-ft. The gearbox has its own controller and torque limits, so the optional TCU tune raises them to match, with sharper shifts and stronger clutch clamping.

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2017–2020 Porsche Panamera / Panamera 4 (971.1) models. Choose your year at the top of the page; the figures and prices are the same for every year.
The 2017–2020 Panamera and Panamera 4 use a 3.0-liter V6 with one turbocharger. For 2021 Porsche replaced it with a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6, so the later car is a separate page, Panamera / Panamera 4 (971.2), with its own figures. The tenth character of the VIN gives the model year: H, J, K or L for 2017 to 2020.
Yes, including the Executive and Sport Turismo versions of the Panamera 4, since they share the single-turbo V6 and PDK. The Panamera 4 E-Hybrid sold alongside them uses a different, plug-in powertrain and is not part of this page.
Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2020 car, Stage 1 takes it from 325 hp to 425 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 460 hp.
A TCU tune is available as an add-on ($1,999). It raises the transmission’s torque limits and sharpens the shifts so the gearbox can handle the extra power. Ship your TCU in the same box as your ECU.
