About the Porsche Panamera GTS (971.1)

Arriving two years into the generation, the GTS fills the gap between the six-cylinder 4S and the Panamera Turbo with a specification aimed at keen drivers. It was the first Panamera GTS to be offered as a Sport Turismo as well as a sedan, and it was sold for the 2019 and 2020 model years before the 2021 update.

The previous GTS had a naturally aspirated 4.8-liter V8. This one uses a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with both turbochargers inside the V, an eight-speed PDK and all-wheel drive, and both bodies share a factory time of 3.9 seconds to 60 mph.

Standard equipment explains the badge: adaptive air suspension set 10 mm lower with its own PASM calibration, 390 mm front brake discs, the Sport Chrono Package, a sport exhaust with black tailpipes, black 20-inch wheels and a cabin trimmed in black Alcantara, steering wheel included.

Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and takes it from 454 hp and 457 lb-ft to 675 hp and 690 lb-ft on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 is calibrated for supporting bolt-on modifications and high-octane fuel, for 720 hp and 738 lb-ft.

FAQ

Panamera GTS (971.1) tuning questions

More answers in our FAQ

Which years of the Panamera GTS (971.1) does this tune fit?

Our online catalog lists Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes for 2019–2020 Porsche Panamera GTS (971.1) models. Choose your year at the top of the page; the figures and prices are the same for every year.

How is the GTS different from the Panamera Turbo (971.1)?

Both use a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 and PDK, but the Turbo has more power and is quicker, at 3.4 seconds to 60 mph with Sport Chrono. The GTS answers with a lower air suspension setting, a standard sport exhaust and an Alcantara cabin, and there was no GTS Executive. The two cars have separate pages and figures.

Does the 2021 Panamera GTS share this page?

The 2021 car is listed separately, as Panamera GTS (971.2). For that year Porsche raised the GTS’s output, tuned its throttle to respond more like a naturally aspirated engine and fitted a sport exhaust with asymmetric rear silencers. The 2019–2020 GTS sedan and Sport Turismo are the cars covered here.

What is the difference between Stage 1 and Stage 2 on the Panamera GTS (971.1)?

Stage 1 is calibrated for the car as it left the factory and runs on pump-grade fuel. Stage 2 pairs the calibration with supporting bolt-on modifications such as downpipes and runs on high-octane fuel. On a 2020 car, Stage 1 takes it from 454 hp to 675 hp. Stage 2 takes it to 720 hp.
